Reporting to the Director of Community Standards Peace Officers, the Strategic Planning Analyst I is a key role responsible for leading and coordinating strategic efforts across the section. This position manages important issues, conducts research and analysis, and develops performance metrics to ensure our work aligns with the City's overall strategy. You will work collaboratively with both Transit Peace Officers and Community Standards Peace Officer units to enhance processes, manage projects, and oversee vendor contracts. Your work will be crucial in streamlining our business operations and using data to inform decisions that contribute to a safer and more vibrant Edmonton. This role is perfect for a proactive individual who can see the bigger picture and connect strategic goals with day-to-day operations.

 

What will you do?

  • Lead the section through strategic, business, and operational planning processes to ensure alignment with corporate goals

  • Manage vendor and partner relationships, including scheduling performance meetings, coordinating reporting, and developing procurement documents like RFPs

  • Oversee projects from planning to completion, ensuring partners are engaged, timelines are met, and work stays within scope and budget

  • Conduct research and analysis on a wide variety of issues, monitor trends, and provide recommendations to leadership

  • Develop and implement performance measurement tools, dashboards, and evaluation frameworks to track the success and effectiveness of programs

  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes, memos, and presentations for executive leadership and other diverse audiences

  • Identify and implement improvements for internal processes to ensure efficient and effective programs

  • Represent the Community Standards Peace Officer section on various branch, department, and corporate committees and working groups
