You will play a key part in implementing major strategies like Breathe: Edmonton's Green Network Strategy to enhance our parks and open spaces. If you are a collaborative professional who enjoys complex problem-solving and community-focused work, we want to hear from you.

The Planner performs professional-level work focused on land use, active transportation, and environmental planning. You will be responsible for undertaking diverse projects that require deep analysis, the generation of innovative recommendations, and the development of proposed policies. Working under the guidance of a Senior Planner, you will research and guide the implementation of city-wide policies that impact our parks and recreation services. This role involves reviewing plans for new neighborhoods and ensuring land development applications align with our environmental goals for the North Saskatchewan River Valley and ravine system. You will also serve as a subject matter expert, responding to inquiries from community partners and the general public on sensitive or complex planning issues. • Provide detailed research and customized responses to inquiries from leadership, media, and engagement participants
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for strategic policy development and interdisciplinary studies
  • Support public engagement plans and internal collaboration across various City departments
  • Implement key strategies, such as the Green Network Strategy, across multiple departments
