The Edmonton Election is a large-scale, complex, highly legislated civic project that is held every four years, featuring tight timelines and a broad range of stakeholders. It is a project that requires agility, precision, and dedication, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a process that enables Edmontonians to vote for Mayor, Council, and Edmonton Public or Edmonton Catholic school board trustees.
As our Election Assistant, Candidate Processes and Engagement, you'll be the friendly face and steady hand that guides candidates through the nomination process, ensuring a smooth and efficient election for all Edmontonians. With your strong communication skills and deep understanding of election legislation, you'll provide exceptional support to candidates, ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to successfully navigate the nomination process.
What will you do?
- Welcome visitors to the elections office, including candidates, public members, and election workers, and provide assistance as needed
- Respond to inquiries and share information regarding election processes, deadlines, and requirements
- Ensure strict confidentiality and neutrality in all interactions, safeguarding personal and sensitive information
- Maintain and update candidate records related to nominations
- Assist in preparing reports, meeting agendas, and minutes related to candidate nominations and elections
- Support the registration of political parties, slates, and third-party advertisers by facilitating information flow and managing appointment bookings
