Reporting to the Supervisor, Integrated Services, the Fleet & Equipment Coordinator is accountable for the coordination, management and planning of complex technical and specialized fleet and equipment assets for the Branch and for providing input and expertise to the vendor contracts for fleet and equipment.
What will you do?
- Acting as the primary contact and liaison between Fleet & Facility Services (FFS) and PARS
- Planning and coordination of City-owned fleet and equipment assets (trailers, buckets, scrapers, and other attachments) and other assets to support Branch operations. This role requires technical expertise in determining specifications and designs required for fleet and equipment functionality to support PARS operational teams
- Fleet and equipment optimization analysis to identify areas of improvement to better support PARS operational teams
- Collaborate in the procurement, and implementation of the fleet and equipment resource plan that ensures the availability of the appropriate vehicles and equipment to support Branch operations
- Ensure the annual maintenance and inspection plans and schedules developed by Fleet & Facility Services (FFS) are followed, and maintenance and inspection are completed in a timely manner
- Collaborate with PARS operational leadership and FFS Acquisition and Disposal team in the procurement, removal, and retention of fleet units
- Collaborate with operational teams and FFS to ensure vendors are in adherence to specifications outlined in the contract (i.e. timeline for intended task, specialized equipment type to be provided), and ensure vendors uphold warranties and service agreements
- Collaborate with operational teams and FFS Acquisition and Disposal team to recommend that procurement be initiated (i.e. require a new equipment type due to the task performed), prepare specifications and draft contracts, as an operational subject matter expert
- Collaborate with FFS on repair vs replace vs rent/lease decisions. Review and approve repairs when required
- Review and approve potential solutions to unit fabrication requirements
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order, including site inspection, coordinate repairs
- Establish and maintain an inventory of equipment and resources along with inventory control processes
