As the Fleet & Equipment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing the life cycle of a diverse range of assets, from small trimmers and chainsaws to large specialized trailers and scrapers. Reporting to the General Supervisor, you will be the primary link between operational teams and Fleet & Facility Services to ensure equipment availability and reliability. You will provide technical expertise in determining equipment specifications while maintaining detailed inventory and disposal records. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of branch operations through strategic planning and coordination of maintenance and inspections. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the equipment repair team to ensure all assets are in peak working order. This is a dynamic position that balances technical asset management with strong relationship-building across various city departments.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate and manage complex technical and specialized fleet and equipment assets across the branch
  • Collaborate with operational teams and partners to develop procurement plans and equipment specifications
  • Ensure annual maintenance and inspection schedules are strictly followed to maintain equipment safety and reliability
  • Conduct audits of equipment locations and maintain a comprehensive inventory control process
  • Analyze fleet data, including utilization and maintenance costs, to support capital planning and budgeting
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the equipment repair staff, including the organization and movement of equipment across city yards
  • Research emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in fleet management to drive process improvements
  • Address concerns from community partners and collaborators regarding equipment and fleet operations
