Integrated Infrastructure Services designs and delivers infrastructure on behalf of Council and Edmontonians.

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance and Technical Services the General Supervisor, Transportation Materials Engineering is responsible to lead a team of Professional Engineers and staff to undertake, coordinate and review designs for surface civil engineering structures, materials and construction methods related to transportation infrastructure as well as those that provide inspections services for roadway projects  during construction or related to warranty.

• Lead a collaborative team and inspire them with purpose and vision to achieve their full potential
• Oversee and provide necessary technical support for reviews, including providing comments for consideration on pavement and other transportation-related structure designs prepared by consultants for Capital projects at various project design stages (concept, preliminary, and detailed).
• Oversee and review the generation of accurate, comprehensive and sustainable pavement structural designs for roadway and related projects including for preservation, rehabilitation, renewal, reconstruction and new construction that are completed in house.
• Oversee and support to determine engineering scope related to pavements and review of project drawings at various stages of design
• Provide senior oversight for field engineering and technical support; troubleshoot issues in the field and oversee the provision of field change notices
• Provide civil engineering subject matter expertise in the review and update of the City of Edmonton's Complete Streets Design and Construction Standards
