As the Indigenous & Multicultural Program Manager, you will serve as the primary bridge between Fort Edmonton Park and the diverse voices that define our city. You will lead the integration of inclusive narratives across all museum operations, providing strategic oversight for key sites like the Indigenous Peoples Experience and the Chinese Market Garden. Your work will involve managing a dedicated team to deliver culturally respectful programming that aligns with the City Plan and The Indigenous Framework. By navigating complex cross-cultural dynamics with sensitivity, you will ensure that every guest and collaborator feels a genuine sense of belonging. Ultimately, you will balance day-to-day operational excellence with a long-term vision to establish the Park as a premier, vibrant cultural landmark.
What will you do?
- Develop and deliver the general admission season interpretation, and educational programs focused on multicultural and Indigenous narratives
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Indigenous and multicultural communities, businesses, and groups
- Supervise direct reports and a larger team, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and role development
- Research, develop, and evaluate training for all staff and volunteers regarding cultural protocols, community practices, and diverse histories
- Consult on and direct strategic planning, including needs assessments and goal setting for program delivery
- Collaborate with other departments to create themed products and support media opportunities related to cultural themes
- Monitor budget variances and provide input into forecasting while managing resources for community engagement protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
