Description

Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Leadership Development Programs, you will function as a corporate Learning and Development Consultant, managing, creating, and delivering learning opportunities and providing consultation to enhance individual and team competencies. Within our team, our focus areas are general employee capacity building and leadership development. Success is measured by achieving results respectfully, inclusively, and with a service mindset.

Key responsibilities align with the City's Cultural Commitments and include:

  • Learning programs, tools, and supports: Lead a portfolio of corporate learning programs (e.g., professional development, communication, navigating conflict, safety, workplace wellness, equity and inclusion), including needs identification, objective setting, design, development, coordination, delivery, evaluation, and continuous enhancement
  • Learning and development consultation: Partner with clients and subject matter experts to provide strategic advice, guidance, and support in designing and delivering learning solutions, considering operational conditions (e.g., seasonal, dispersed teams, and operational shift schedule). This ranges from job aids for specific skill development to peer learning supports, or organizational learning strategies.
  • E-Learning development: Work with clients to conceptualize and build E-Learning courses, videos or other asynchronous learning products
  • Learning facilitation: Facilitate corporate learning sessions and workshops weekly.
  • Perform other related duties

A foundational way of working is through collaboration and integration. You have a positive attitude, are open to new ideas and approaches, enjoy problem-solving, and seek innovative learning approaches beyond classroom training (e.g., online, E-learning, self-directed, experiential). You are collaborative, connect pieces of work, and are willing to support colleagues, clients, or programs as needed.
