The City of Edmonton is seeking a friendly and organized individual to join the Edmonton Transit Service team as an LRT Operations Clerk. In this role, you will provide crucial administrative support to the LRT Operations team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the LRT system. You will be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing documents, coordinating schedules, and providing exceptional customer service. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals dedicated to providing safe and reliable public transportation.

What will you do?

  • Administrative support to the LRT Operations Management team consisting of the Manager of LRT Operations, Supervisor of LRT Field Operations and LRT Superintendents
  • Administrative support to the LRT Operations team consisting of LRT Inspectors, LRT Dispatchersand LRT Operators
  • Scan, electronically file, and distribute confidential documents relating to Human Resources and Labour Relations issues
  • Produce Operator Performance Counselling/Discipline reports and documentation.
  • Create, update and maintain Google shared drives, filing structures, employee lists, Google groups, and email lists, ensuring confidential information is appropriately accessed
  • Verify and record work hours, absences, and overtime
  • Compile and process data relating to LRT Accidents / Incidents such as videos, hasler graphs, audio recordings, statements, and photos for the Employee and Legal Services Branch, LRT Section Supervisors, and LRT Rail Safety Management Section 
  • Maintain office spaces and equipment inventory
  • Assess staffing needs and assign shifts
  • Maintain training records and schedule courses
  • Participate as recording secretary, transcribing and distribution of meetings
  • Schedule meetings and book boardrooms
  • Provide reception and telephone coverage
  • Record petty cash transactions
  • Prepare cheque requisitions and travel expense claims
  • Manage credit card transactions and receipts
  • Process and route incoming mail from Canada Post
  • Process and route incoming and outgoing couriers
  • Maintain and process all invoices through SAP/ARIBA, cheque requisitions, or corporate credit VISA card
  • Perform other related duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
