As a Maintenance Repair Person, you will be responsible for the on-going maintenance and repair of facility equipment, amenities and systems, ensuring that the facility equipment is safe and functional.
What will you do:
- Maintain and repair the fitness equipment housed within recreation centres, including indoor playground equipment, where applicable. The work includes both preventative and reactive maintenance
- Asset management of fitness equipment, including maintenance documentation, inventory control, equipment disposal, usage tracking and reporting, parts purchasing, etc.
- Support and liaise with facility operations and program staff, service customers within the facilities, and establish/maintain relationships with internal trades and external vendors
- Assist facility staff with additional facility duties such as snow removal and the repair of minor facility damage
- Assist the operations crew lead and management supervisor in establishing the annual work plan for the position and identifying the required facility and system replacements, improvements and enhancements
- Assist with the set-up and take down of equipment for facility events and functions including outdoor maintenance and repairs
- Recommend purchases and construct fitness and fitness-related equipment
- Support the city-wide Branch's Facility Maintenance Repairperson team within recreation centres with vacation coverage
- Support additional Branch operations as required. This includes moving requests, requests to prepare/repair outdoor program equipment and other related work
