What will you do?
- Review and make decisions on Home Improvement Permits (HIPs) and Minor Development Permits, including those for secondary suites, additions, and signage, backyard housing, single detached and semi-detached housing.
- Assist senior staff with file analysis and technical reviews of major development permit applications
- Ensure applications comply with the Zoning Bylaw, Municipal Government Act, Area Structure Plans, and other related policies
- Provide knowledgeable and timely responses to customer inquiries regarding zoning and development permits
- Address applicant and citizen concerns related to development applications/decisions
- Attend Subdivision and Development Appeal Board hearings and prepare reports
- Review and issue curb crossing permits, coordinating with the Transportation Department
- Review and process requests for compliance certificates and prepare encroachment agreements
- Review permit clearances and home occupation permits related to business licenses
