The City of Edmonton's Urban Planning & Economy department is seeking experienced technology practitioners to be a Strategic System Analyst. The department leverages leading technology from AI to automation to innovate how services are delivered to citizens and businesses. In this role, you will be a key resource for both internal and external customers, providing expert advice and support on the City's land management and workflow enterprise systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring that these systems are meeting our needs, developing software solutions, and helping to improve services for Edmontonians.

Reporting to the Manager of eServices and Service Improvement this role will help shape the future of digital service delivery at the City of Edmonton. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of software development, data management, and system integration, as well as a passion for using technology to improve services for citizens.

What will you do?

• Develop and implement software solutions and enhancements to existing systems   
• Address software issues, explore solutions, and work with users to resolve software deficiencies effectively
• Provide direction, advice, and consulting services as required in the use of technology to achieve business objectives
• Research and recommend new technologies to improve the City's services 
• Participate in the planning and implementation of technology projects 
• Develop and maintain system documentation, guidelines 
• Share knowledge of solutions, technologies, and processes
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends
