This posting is for one (1) Temporary position that may continue until September 4, 2026

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking a Floor Supervisor to provide leadership to the employees of the Police Seized Vehicle Section (PSVS). Major responsibilities include:

  • With a second supervise, supervise and maintain training for a staff of thirteen (13) employees.
  • Design, implement and monitor an action plan to equally distribute workload.
  • Ensure all administrative functions related to the release, sale, or disposal of seized vehicles are completed.
  • Using the Prov Gov't APIS application, verify all NAP cancelations and determine fees due.
  • Ensure that PSVS provides a high level of service to the public.
  • In conjunction with EPS Finance Section, enforce existing cash handling policies.
  • Review daily cash submissions by cashiers, compile and record daily and monthly sales totals. Conduct follow-up as required.
  • Provide support dealing with difficult customers, including providing clear explanation of legislation related to seized vehicles.
  • Maintain and update computer databases.
  • Maintain a cash float, audit cashier floats as directed by EPS Finance.
  • Other duties as required.
     
Qualifications

  • Completion of grade twelve (12) including business subjects related to word and information processing and training in microcomputer applications or completion of an approved certificate program. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory and diversified word and/or information processing experience. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to perform under stressful conditions.
  • Working knowledge of the Provincial statutes that apply to the GoA Abandoned Vehicle Disposal Program and Alberta Traffic Safety Act would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Police related databases (NICHEUA, CPIC, APIS) would be considered an asset.

Hours of Work:

33.75 hours per week. This position will work a shift rotation which includes 1400 – 2200 hrs. on weekdays and 0900 – 1700 hrs. on a set number of weekends. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Salary Range:

21M, Salary Grade: 012, $30.31 - $38.01 (Hourly), $2,046.30 - $2,565.80 (Bi-Weekly), $53,407.45 - $66,967.64 (Annually). 
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
