A Day in the Life of a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Therapist
As a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Therapist, you will assess and implement effective therapy for patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings that need rehabilitation from various cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Your role will integrate collaborative work with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare specialists to ensure comprehensive care plans. Key tasks include conducting crucial tests such as the orthostatic test, the 6-minute walk test, and ankle-brachial index tests, alongside overseeing daily rehab operations and educational programs. You will also handle emergency procedures and continuously follow up on patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary. The position demands active engagement in expanding program guidelines and services, as well as building relationships with new and existing medical providers to promote service growth.
