Description

The Highlights: Coordinates and leads the planning phase for the development of an innovative AI-powered platform designed to assist migrants by integrating real-time translation services, information extraction capabilities, and personalized recommendations. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, fostering agreement and thought among stakeholders, and ensuring that the project aligns with the values of community-centered design, transparency, fairness, and usability. Oversees the planning, development, and implementation of a community-centered framework aimed at enhancing engagement with immigrant communities, service providers, and domain experts. This project draws on deep interdisciplinary expertise in data science, human-centered design, and migrant issues, requiring a collaborative and agile approach. Please note this part-time role is expected to work 15-20 hours per week, with some work taking place in person.
 

What You'll Do:

  • Develops, manages, and execute project plans, timelines, and milestones in alignment with project objectives. 
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams, including data scientists, designers, community stakeholders, and other experts. 
  • Works closely with the Stakeholder Advisory Board, composed of community leaders, service providers, government representatives, and domain experts. Facilitates regular meetings, workshops, and co-design sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure transparency. 
  • Plans all aspects of a Symposium to bring together migrant communities, migrant serving organizations, service providers, and government representatives. 
  • Coordinates the work of the design and development team in implementing the community-centered design approach, ensuring stakeholder feedback is integrated into every phase. 
  • In coordination with the project staff, facilitates training for Community Champions and other representatives on topics such as human-centered design, AI prompt engineering, and fairness evaluations.
  • Prepares and presents project reports, including milestones, risks, budget updates, and impact assessments.
  • Ensures adherence to the project's scope, budget, and timeline, while managing risks and facilitating problem resolution. 

 

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in project management, human-centered design, computer science, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in managing complex projects.
  • Experience in human-centered design and/or community engagement or related field helpful. 
  • Track record of successfully managing projects with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, academic institutions, and government organizations.
  • Experience or interest in services for immigrant and migrant communities helpful. 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams, facilitate communication, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and tools.
  • Basic understanding of AI technologies and their applications is helpful but not required.
