**Job Summary:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
Collaborate with the Research Services Finance Program Manager throughout each clinical research study on full-cycle development, negotiation, execution, and evaluation of industry-sponsored budgets.
Consult with sub-specialty Program Managers and Finance Program Manager on project budgets throughout various stages of design, development, implementation, and execution of research studies.
Responsible for the implementation and execution of optimal research budget negotiation practices based on full-cycle research budget needs and forecasted outcomes
Responsible for the review, administration, and submission of agreements using research web-based technologies in collaboration with project stakeholders
Develop and maintain training for study budgeting.
Assist with developing or develops clinical research-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

**Minimum Qualifications:**
Intermediate Professional:
A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, business, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Senior Professional:
A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, business, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Two (2) years of clinical research experience OR budget, finance, or accounting
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Experience using Excel
Budget development experience
Experience with negotiations
Experience working with clinical trials management system OnCore
Experience with hospital systems, such as Epic or billing systems
Experience with clinical studies calendar specification and protocol/subject related procedures
Experience with web-based submission systems
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
Familiarity with concepts and practices related to clinical research protocols and budgeting
Ability to exercise sound judgement, troubleshoot problems, and pursue positive resolutions.
Exceptional organizational skills, ability to plan and execute work processes, and identify and set priorities for self and others to ensure deadlines are achieved. Comfortable working on many projects at the same time.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in diverse team structures
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Thorough understanding of how clinical trials are conducted at the University of Colorado as well as reading and understanding clinical trial protocols.

The Department of Neurology is looking for a full-time Research Services Professional (Clinical Research Budget and Finance Specialist). The Clinical Research Budget and Finance Specialist will help in managing the department database - NeuroCraft, and the day-to-day management of the system as it relates to clinical research budget development. This position is responsible for the organization of all clinical research budgets.
