We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse for our Adult Mental Health team for a temporary (3-month) position to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. We are located in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.

RN's joining our team must have strong communication skills to work with patients and staff as part of our multi-disciplinary team. Good organizational skills are required. This position is responsible for medication administration, patient care, positive role modeling, and documentation of flows, crisis intervention and patient safety.

Summary of Duties:

As a psychiatric registered nurse and behavioral health nurse, you have a unique opportunity to provide one on one, psychiatric/behavioral health and skilled nursing care and treatment to patients our residential homes and clinics. Your primary work will include collaboration with mental health professionals including psychiatrists and psychologists to create a home care plan supporting an individual and their caregivers coping with, schizophrenia, anxiety, grief, depression and other psychiatric conditions and within the home setting.

Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will provide direct care. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Interview consumers and/or family members using acceptable techniques that are appropriate for the individual's level of functioning to obtain necessary information regarding medical, social, and/or emotional background

Perform routine tests and take vital signs regularly as prescribed in each individual plan of care

Accurately documents a written assessment or update in each consumer's chart on a every contact basis

Collaborates effectively with other treatment team members in the development of and monitoring of each Consumer's plan of care

Modifies plan of care as indicated by reassessment of consumer's

Schedules outside clinic appointments/special activities as needs following established protocol or physician/clinician orders; follows up on appointments as needed

Administers medication(s) in the proper method, adhering to the (8) rights of med administration

Explains medication and treatment to Children and Adults and documents education provided on every visit for clients in residential setting

Makes rounds, either with physician/clinician or independently as required or appropriate

Immediately responds to consumers in acute distress according to established guidelines

Regularly monitors patient compliance with health instructions (e. g. dietary guidelines) and self medication; Takes corrective action as necessary

Conducts regular sanitation inspections of the clinic/program

Assist with discharge planning

Adheres to universal precautions in all situations to prevent the spread of infection

Actively participates in assigned and appropriate meetings as required to discuss needs, goals, objectives, and outcomes of services, quality assurance, infection control, etc.

Provides education to client and family.

Flexible and adaptable. Be willing to work at multiple site

*All applicants are subject to provide a current seven (7) year Motor Vehicle Report and Georgia background check prior.*

Registered Nurse (RN) Minimum Qualifications:

Current Georgia RN or LPN license

Two years in mental health field.

At least 21 years of age

Possess a valid driver's license

Submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checks

CPR/First Aid and BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant work experience in Behavioral health patient care

Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with patients of all ages

Required licenses or certifications

Registered Nurse License
