DISCOVERY AT HOME- GULF COAST, is a Discovery Senior Living company, and is growing, thriving, and has meaningful job opportunities available in a safe and supportive work environment. We work with YOUR availability. Most shifts take place at our Aston Gardens Independent Living communities in Westchase/Tampa , Florida.
The caregiver's role includes providing hands on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining cleanliness of resident's apartment/home
Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety of each resident
Participating and assisting residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed
Engaging residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities
Qualifications - Per Florida requirements MUST have the following:
- HHA certificate proving that a minimum of 40 hours of education was received with 2 of those 40 hours being in classroom time
AND/ OR a Certified Nurse's Aid (CNA) certification through the State of Florida
- CPR certification
- PPD (TB) test results in the last year or a copy of chest X-ray results
- Elder Affairs Florida, ADRD one-hour Training Certification – May watch the video while doing the interview process
- Valid Driver License
- Auto Insurance
Must be 18 years of age
Previous experience working with seniors preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, management and co-workers
Superior customer service skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
Must have transportation and active driver's license with proof of auto insurance.
