What You'll Do
In this role, you will lead all culinary operations for the Assisted Living community. You'll be both the creative force and the hands-on leader responsible for exceptional food quality, safety, and team performance.
- Lead day-to-day operations of the kitchen while participating in meal preparation and service.
- Develop and execute diverse, high-quality menus that meet regional, cultural, and dietary needs.
- Mentor, train, and schedule the culinary team, ensuring excellence and accountability.
- Maintain high sanitation and food safety standards; conduct regular audits and quality checks.
- Oversee inventory, food cost controls, and vendor relationships in alignment with budget targets.
- Inspire a high-performing, positive team culture rooted in service and culinary excellence.
- Respond proactively to feedback and drive continuous improvement in food quality and service delivery.
- Collaborate with leadership and care staff to align kitchen operations with resident satisfaction goals.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of culinary leadership in a high-volume, high-standard environment (e.g., country clubs, resorts, cruise ships).
- Hands-on kitchen leadership experience, including cooking, staffing, and operations oversight.
- Food Safety Certification and strong knowledge of sanitation procedures.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining service excellence.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Culinary training or certification.
- Strong understanding of menu engineering, cost controls, and procurement practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and kitchen management software.
- Experience in training and team development, with the ability to build morale and accountability.
- Familiarity with senior living culinary environments is a plus—but only if paired with high service standards.
