Job Details:

Ensures the execution and implementation of the strategy and vision for staffing, training and development, benefits communications, succession planning, employee relations, union avoidance, performance measurement, performance management, and training for distribution center employees. Analyzes, defines and implements DC structure, functions, core competencies, processes and measurements to efficiently and effectively achieve company goals through tough expense control, courageous people development, and effective management practices. Partners with various business functions to drive business objectives, plan and execute strategy, control expenses, and facilitate the alignment of human capital with organizational goals through best practices and supporting policies, resulting in a positive work environment and employer of choice recruitment.

Qualifications:
  • Ensure the execution and implementation of the strategy and vision for staffing, recruiting, internal development, performance management, and employee engagement for assigned distribution centers.
  • Manage distribution center employee relations. May help resolve escalated personnel-related problems and issues.
  • Assist with succession planning. Recruit, select, and assess potential leadership candidates both internally and externally.
  • Evaluate HR metrics and other departmental results in relation to established goals, and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Oversee the primary activities of HR Senior Managers to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goals.
  • Responsible for goal planning and budgeting of each department's expenses.
  • Model total development and provide leadership opportunities for direct reports. Implement leadership development and training in a multi-location environment.
  • Responsible for all HR responsibilities of direct and indirect reports (e.g. hiring, coaching, training, appraising, etc.).
  • Responsible for acting as a consultant to influence business partners, deliver constructive advice, diagnose and resolve problems and positively influence change.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies, procedures, including development and delivery
  • Analytical skills, with strengths in data analysis and presentation
  • Ability to identify trends and develop appropriate recommendations for resolution
  • Ability to present data, discuss issues, challenge, and negotiate with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with and lead others, provide training and guidance as necessary
  • Ability to work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment, and display initiative and innovation on the job
  • Knowledge and experience in Union Avoidance laws and techniques
  • Knowledge of performance review, assessment, positive reinforcement, and rewards
  • Personal computer and program proficiency including design, database, and word processing programs
  • Strong knowledge of all relevant employment laws and regulations (wage and hour, FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, workers' comp, and other DOL regulations)
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred. At least 5-7 years of progressive human resources experience, with management experience required. An appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted.
