General Summary:

Manages the in-store signage support for Dollar General's weekly print & digital marketing programs, including monthly Temporary Price Reductions (TPRs). Manages daily relationship with creative agency & production supplier (Vestcom) to ensure the design of accurate in-store communications (signing) that are compelling to customers, and which accurately reflect promotional pricing across multiple ad versions while ensuring store format-specific sequencing that maximizes store labor efficiencies. Position also partners with supplies to ensure that all customer-facing materials for Dollar General meet our brand standards and are consistent with brand standards. Position is also responsible for approving all on-shelf signing generated thru our DGMN, and to ensure those POP materials adhere to brand standards and are consistent with Dollar General approved signing and co-marketing materials.

Job Details:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages in-store sign execution of Stackz programs - coordinating the responsibilities of Marketing, Pricing, Operations, and Store Planning departments - to create weekly store mail promotional offers, including editing promotional copy, submitting files to supplier partner to create in-store shelf talkers, tracking approvals from multiple departments and submitting counts to store operations for the proper planning of labor needs (on a weekly basis). This includes all POP ad materials for both DG-branded and DG Market (DGM) stores, chain-wide, for 40+ ad versions.
    • Partners with DG Merchandising, Pricing and Store Planning regarding all aspects of promotional advertising development for ad signs, including:
      • Develops and communicates production calendars and deadlines.
      • Prepares, arranges, and documents all edits and communicates those to the appropriate "owners" and or suppliers for execution.
      • Ensures all appropriate "owners" review and proof materials in a timely manner and ensure that materials are corrected and accurate prior to files being released to Vestcom.
      • Ensures the appropriate and timely collection of point of purchase (POP) offers / information from merchandising, marketing and POG teams (to support digital and print promotions/ads) to ensure DG complies with weights & measures policies.
      • Ensures print sequencing of talkers are accurate and aligned with each stores' formats to maximize installation efficiencies by store teams, requiring coordination of information from Store Planning.
  • Reviews and adjusts talker quantities per offer as needed to ensure effective and accurate communication of promotions to customers while ensuring appropriate tag quantities by offer (to reduce store labor demands).
  • Ensures timely, accurate submission of invoice processing for Stackz and TPR programs for approvals (and is responsible for accruals).
  • Manages Sign Requests for all Stackz tracking, reprints, reorders and field questions for entire chain.
  • Manages day to day relationship with Vestcom, including responsibilities for work flow processes, timeline scheduling and adherence, corrective actions on ad tag flow and the resolution of issues relating to prices/offers.
  • Assists with the conceptualization and execution of creative designs, and provides direction for original artwork interpreted through the lens of our brand standards for all POP in-store signing in support of circulars, promotions, or other advertising.
  • Designs and produces signs in-house as needed to meet extremely tight and/or urgent deadlines for all START tasks as well as ad/offer corrections.
  • Manages overall quality, timeliness and development of projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilitites:

  • Proficient with Illustrator or In-Design to produce in-house promotional signs when needed.
  • High proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must understand and apply tactical and strategic knowledge of advertising and production to lead creative and execution of effective, targeted marketing programs.
  • Strong design capabilities with conceptual strengths.
  • Basic knowledge of prepress and print production methods and processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize under short timelines and deadlines; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to all levels.
  • Ability to problem solve, anticipate and resolve issues.
Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education:

Minimum of two years on-the-job experience required.

Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or two to four years hands-on technical training in layout and design utilizing Adobe and Microsoft software and systems required.
