Hourly Rate: $17.00 to $20.83

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with businesses to obtain and develop industry knowledge in an effort to avert future layoffs or business downsizing
  • Initiate on-site contact with employers and employee representatives to assist employers with development of business solution/plan to minimize impact to current workforce due to potential business downsizing.  
  • Communicate with and provide updates to partner agencies as needed/required to plan and report on Rapid Response activities. 
  • Develop, plan and coordinate informational and employee workshops. 
  • Conduct rapid response orientations to advise dislocated workers about available training and employment resources and labor market information. Interview applicants to obtain work related information.
  •  Distribute and collect completed surveys to assist with determination of future employment and training needs of displaced employees.   
  • Serve as liaison with other agencies, service organizations, private enterprise, etc. regarding employment and training services. 
  • Communicate with local economic development agencies and partner agencies regarding job development, business expansion, and retention activities. 

Qualifications

  • Related Bachelor's Degree (social services, counseling, business), from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience.  Past experience working with the Public and Private Sectors.  
  • Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.

About Our Workforce Programs:

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers.  Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.  We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
