EECU is looking for Mortgage Loan Closer that will help manage a daily pipeline of loan closings, preparing loan documents, reviewing legal closing documents, calculating escrow, and sending out Closing documents.

Key responsibilities for the Mortgage Loan Closer: 

  • Responsible for managing a daily pipeline and scheduling loan closings with the Member, Branch and/or Title Company while maintaining an accurate closing schedule and adhering to stringent closing dates. 
  • Prepares the loan documents for Secondary Market Loans (Fannie, Freddie, FHLB), Home Equity, Home Equity Line of Credits, Home Improvement, Jumbo, Purchase/Refi Mortgages, Land Loans, Broker loans, One-time close/ interim construction loans and Purchase Money 2nd loans; including ordering Secondary market documents from external document provider.
  • Responsible for legal document review before sending the final legal closing documents to Member, Branch and/or Title Company. Must ensure closing is completed on time and closing dates are met to ensure we do not incur penalties and late fees. 
  • Responsible for the final calculation of escrow analysis, and preparing escrow disclosures, as well as paying invoices for Homeowners Insurance, Flood Insurance, and applicable Property Tax on the property. 
  • Responsible for completing and sending out an accurate and compliant Closing Disclosure within the TRID timing guidelines on all real estate loans. Review loan terms with the members including conditions of the approval including interest rate, pay off items, monthly payment amount and due date.  
  • Monitor the receipt of the Closing Disclosure to ensure closing is not delayed. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all closing conditions are satisfied and executed according to the closing instructions. 
  • Responsible for ensuring documents previously requested for loan approval have been saved to the loan file and are true and accurate. Request corrections or revisions as need and ensure they are received in a timely manner and approved by necessary parties. 
  • Effectively communicate loan information to members while handling potential problems and challenges in a clear, concise, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Acts as an intermediary between all parties involved in a mortgage loan transaction. 
  • Monitor and maintain accurate closing schedule.
  • Responsible for managing and resolving any concerns, problems, and documentation issue from Title Company and/or Branches. 
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all data and signatures required on documents. 
  • Review underwriting closing conditions to ensure salability of loan with the appropriate investor and adherence to the underwriting decision. 
  • Ensure that fees for the lender and Title Companies are within TILA/RESPA guidelines. 
  • Responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and correcting any compliance report findings (MAVENT) to ensure the loan is in adherence with EECU and investor regulatory guidelines. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all EECU, State and Federal documents are properly executed by Member/ Branches/Broker/Title Companies in loan package. 
  • Provides help with loan servicing calls including insurance checks, payoff requests, and general questions.
  • This position assists with training new employees, as well as temporary help. 
  • Assists with daily HELOC reports

Candidates for EECU should possess the following knowledge and experience: 

Ø Two years' experience loan closing/loan processor 

Ø One-two years' experience financial/banking 

Ø Must be able to work under pressure and within limited time constraints 

Ø Must be able to maintain member confidentiality of member information regarding income, job, account information, credit and loan decisions 

Ø Must have a clear understanding of real estate legal documents and title policies/searches to perform at a proficient level 

Ø Strong written, verbal communication, and time management skills 

Ø Must be proficient in Excel and Word

Ø Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the department, ability to perform multiple tasks at once, detail oriented 

Ø High School diploma or equivalent 

Ø Registered with the State of Texas, with unique identifier

Ø Symitar software and Encompass software a plus 

Ø EECU will, in compliance with applicable laws, evaluate an applicant's credit history. Only applicants with good credit history will be considered for open positions. If offered a position with EECU, will have to clear background check including employment, criminal, and drug screen. 

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, FCRA/FACTA, RESPA, HMDA, SAFE Act, TRID, ATR/QM, Fair Housing Act, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Homeowner's Protection Act and HPML. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
