Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the food service supervisor, the Barista is responsible for maintaining a sanitary work environment, preparing and handling food, communicating effectively with staff and management, and assisting with the inventory process. Must be able to function independently. Must be service-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Status: Full Time
Shift: Variable. Weekend rotation required.
Hours: 5:30am-1:30pm, 12:30pm-8:30pm, 3:15pm-11:15pm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lives organizational values and consistently communicates with customers, colleagues, and management with respect, courtesy, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Explains menu items, prepares drinks and food according to recipes and sanitary regulations, and ensures timely service to meet customer expectations.
• Maintains adequate supplies, requisitions food and materials, assists with inventory processes, rotates stock, and reports needs to supervisors.
• Follows food safety guidelines, sanitizes equipment, performs routine and special cleaning tasks, and keeps work areas organized and hygienic.
• Operates cash register and equipment, processes paperwork, and performs additional duties as assigned to support smooth operations.

 

Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety is desirable.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be able to display excellent customer service.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with food service employees, patients and nursing personnel.
• Must be able to analyze and solve arithmetic problems.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
