Job Summary:
The Shirvan Family Live Well Center, located in downtown Englewood, will provide programming, education and hands-on experience to members of the community at large. The Chef will serve as a valued resource in providing education, practical and culturally appropriate guidance on food preparations. He/She will provide hands-on cooking workshops to participants of the Live Well Center and surrounding communities. The Chef is responsible for designing menus for group demonstrations and community programs.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Proven experience and knowledge of culinary skills and practices.
  • Ability to design menus and create new dishes.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes for cooking preparation requirements or requests.
  • Must possess strong presentation skills and ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work closely with a Dietitian to design nutritional meals for group participants who present with multiple health conditions and specific dietary needs.
  • Must have the strong ability to lead cooking demonstrations with cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Possess good working knowledge of food handling, storage and sanitation regulations.

 


Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

 

Englewood Health job postings provide a minimum rate to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
