Job Summary:
Performs various front office and back office patient care duties. More specifically, this position will assist with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician's time.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- Medical office experience required.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
- Collect patient information, including insurance details and care plans, ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Assist with clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and follow-up appointments.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and office procedures to enhance patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software (experience with Athenahealth or Epic is a plus).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and improving office efficiency.
Education Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent or a minimum of 3 years full-time experience in a related field required.
