Job Summary:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security operations during an assigned shift to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, employees, physicians, visitors, and hospital property. This role supervises security personnel, coordinates responses to security and safety incidents, ensures appropriate follow-up and accurate documentation of all events, and promotes compliance with hospital policies and procedures. The Security Supervisor also serves as a visible leader within the hospital, fostering a safe and secure environment while delivering exceptional customer service and assistance to patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory, security, and/or law enforcement experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of hospital and system-wide policies and procedures
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when responding to security and safety incidents
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records and reports
  • Ability to react appropriately and effectively in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid
  • Knowledge of portable fire extinguishers and their locations throughout the facility
  • Skill in the operation of portable radio communication devices
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk quickly and climb stairs when responding to incidents and emergencies
  • Ability to see and hear accurately in both daytime and nighttime conditions
  • Ability to assist with moving or lifting patients in excess of 100 pounds when necessary
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform duties in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and support security personnel
  • Ability to provide professional, courteous, and customer-focused service to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Englewood Health job postings provide a minimum rate to comply with new Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
