Job Summary:
To instruct and supervise employees engaged in the patient food service, employee cafeteria and specially catered functions. To ensure that the food service standards and schedules of quality, quantity and timeliness are followed. Demonstrates by example and nurtures in staff the standards of service excellence so that these standards represent minimum accepted behavior. Plan, direct and coordinate the operations of Food & Nutrition Services. Manage staff for optimum performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate respect, privacy, courtesy, and confidentiality in all interactions with customers, staff, and management.
  • Oversee daily schedules, ensure proper staffing, delegate duties, and supervise direct reports in line with Medical Center policies.
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing training, monitor and evaluate staff performance, conduct reviews, and manage coaching, discipline, and internal relations.
  • Make immediate operational decisions, handle employee issues, requisition food and supplies, and collaborate with managers and chefs on food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure environmental sanitation, proper waste disposal, notify relevant departments of issues, assist with tray service when needed, and perform other departmental tasks as directed.


Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved supervisory course, Certified Dietary Manager.
  • High School or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with patients and nursing personnel; occasional contact with patient/patient's family.

 

Englewood Health job postings provide a minimum rate to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation. In addition to the minimum rate, eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources. Minimum rate: $25.00 per hour
