Job Summary:
Responsible for the coordination of daily procedures, maintaining physician's agenda, coordinating patient's care with multiple providers and other departments, schedulers, insurance pre-certifiers, and performing other clerical/medical office assistant/secretarial functions. As well as assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Responsibilities:

Demonstrates professional communication with patients, visitors, providers, staff, ancillary departments, and outside agencies.

Manages telephone communications, screens calls, takes messages, responds to routine inquiries, and escalates clinical issues appropriately.

Schedules consults, follow-up appointments, procedures, and surgeries; prepares charts, consent forms, and pre-admission documentation.

Verifies and updates insurance information and obtains required authorizations using internal and external systems.

Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and surgeries; provides written and verbal pre-operative instructions and follow-up calls.

Assists physicians with medical and cosmetic procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions, skin tag removal, Botox).

Performs medical assistant duties including patient intake, histories, vital signs, height/weight, and specimen collection.

Coordinates with hospital departments (OR, Lab, Radiology, HIM, Patient Access, etc.) to obtain required documentation and test results.

Ensures all medical records, diagnostic results, and pathology reports are complete, uploaded, and available prior to appointments.

Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies; manages mail, faxes, records, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent, or a minimum of 5 years full-time experience in a related field at a healthcare setting and/or medical office and insurance experience may be substituted.
- Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred
- Two (2) years' experience in a medical office environment.
- Knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology (preferred).
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, hospital administration, co-workers, and hospital staff.
- Previous electronic Patient Booking/Scheduling experience preferred.
- Previous Insurance Pre-Certification experience preferred.
