Description

Title: Federal Programs Graduation Success Coach Classification: Certified Band Grade Subgrade Department: Accountable To: FLSA Status: Federal Programs Director of Federal Programs Class Summary: To provide support to students within the district and school community. To coordinate, design, implement, and supervise plans of service for students in a variety of programs that contribute to student success. To act as a resource for teachers and program leads in different programs that include grant funded opportunities for students. Distinguishing Characteristics: Duty # Essential Duties Frequency 1 Establish caseload for Priority for Service (PFS) students: Identify students, communicate with students, parents & staff, and identify areas of student need. As Needed 2 Develop a Remediation Plan of Service for targeted students. Collaborate with counselors toward developing the Post-Secondary plan for the student & communicate this plan to teachers. Prioritize the class(es) the student needs to maximize success. Work with teachers and students to facilitate the student's success in the course. Daily 3 Maintain a list of resources students/families may need and coordinate with Federal Programs to provide those resources. As Needed 4 Facilitate and supervise the placement of students in programs that support student achievement and success towards post-secondary success. As Needed 5 Identify Out Of School Youth (OSY) students and provide outreach to assist in re-enrollment. Work with counselor to create a plan for graduation. As Needed 6 Compiles and maintains accurate student data for team. Daily 7 Attends Parent Advisory Committee meetings, school meetings, and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students/parents and teachers/school administration. Contacts parents/legal guardians by telephone, writing, Internet, to encourage their active participation in the students' education. Coordinates parent/family school functions at the school site. Daily and As Needed 8 Administers 21st Century learning programs and coordinates the programs throughout all sites, providing support to each school's site-based lead. Daily 9 Other duties as assigned As Needed Knowledge: Understanding of grant regulations. Knowledge and use of multiple assessment tools and diagnostic procedures. Evidence of continual professional development. Skills (requirements at entry): Ability to coordinate multiple programs. Excellent interpersonal/communications skills orally and in writing. Ability to demonstrate, model and coach effective research-based instructional strategies. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and utilize data to improve student learning and assist teachers and staff with same process. Ability to use MS Word, Excel, email, SMS, instructional platform, and Internet systems. Training and Experience (requirements at entry): Experience teaching at multiples levels (K-12) and across diverse populations. Licensing Requirements (requirements at entry): Type A Alaska Teaching Certificate. Physical Requirements: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
