As a Sr. SBA Business Development Officer at First Commonwealth, your primary focus is generating new SBA business opportunities through your internal and external referral networks. You know how to educate and inspire your business partners and cultivate strong relationships with outside Centers of Influence (COIs). You develop SBA programs and strategies to win in the marketplace and strive to deliver the best bank for businesses.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborates with Business Partners and provides education around SBA products and their benefits.

2. Participates in joint calling efforts and assists with offering SBA solutions to new and prospective clients.

3. Grows external referral network and continually cultivating strong relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) in order to generate new business opportunity.

4. Develops and manages SBA programs and creates strategies to originate SBA loans in the marketplace.

5. Provides clients and prospects with the information necessary to understand the SBA process, including setting the right expectations.

6. Stay current with all SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and adjusts with changes as required.

7. Analyzes financial reports in order to assess potential eligibility. Prepares Credit Memos, gathers and submits all necessary information for underwriting.

8. Structures SBA loans appropriately to protect the bank and provide clients with an effective solution. May assist with credit analysis.

9. Coordinates with all necessary parties to ensure closings are in compliance with bank policy, regulations and SBA SOP. Typically attends SBA closings.

10. Presents clients with a holistic approach banking and introduces partners (i.e., Treasury Management, Insurance, Brokerage, and Mortgage).

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications

1. A bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience is required.

2. A minimum of nine (9) years of banking and/or sales is required, inclusive of at least four (4) years of direct SBA lending.

3. A proven track record of exceeding assigned goals, maintaining operational excellence, building teams and driving performance.

4. A thorough understanding of current SBA policies and structure, product knowledge and financial analysis skills.

5. Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

6. A valid driver's license and regional travel is required.

7. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
