About the Parts Clerk Position
The Parts Clerk is responsible for the receipt, verification, labeling, storage, documentation, and security of all supplies in the Parts Room. Key responsibilities include:
- Stocking all parts to maintain inventory levels
- Conducting price and quality surveys to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Providing counter service to mechanics and other staff
- Keeping the parts room clean and organized
- Maintaining files and records while preparing necessary reports
- Ordering special (non-stock) parts for repair orders
- Monitoring re-order levels and replenishing stock as needed
Parts Clerk Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (Technical training preferred)
- Previous vehicle parts room and inventory experience required
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Subject to drug testing
