The Senior Director, Revenue Operations, will oversee all aspects of revenue recognition, billing operations, and related data analytics for First Student, Inc. This role requires a hands-on leader who can focus on empowering the organization's strategy with data-driven insights to drive revenue growth and enhance decision-making.  This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the revenue and billing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of revenue recognition under ASC 606 and revenue cycle management.

Major Responsibilities

  • Revenue Management: Develop and implement strategies to capture and optimize revenue streams, including pricing models, contract negotiations, and revenue forecasting.
  • Billing Operations: Oversee the billing department to ensure timely and accurate invoices, payment processing, and collections.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial dashboards, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Compliance: Ensure all revenue and billing activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance and billing professionals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue and billing operations.

Minimum Experience & Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in revenue accounting, billing or finance operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, revenue management and billing processes, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP and billing systems (e.g., JDE and Oracle).
