Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Assistant Manager – Strategic Supply Chain Management in Chennai
What a typical day looks like:
Driving excess and Obsolete
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across the segments.
- Monitor and analyze Inventory across nodes to identify E&O risks. (Excess, Obsolete, Aged).
- Track, report, and drive actions on E&O inventory.
- Collaborate with SSCM, GAM & Site to reduce liabilities.
- Support disposition planning (resale, rework, scrap, or transfer).
- Align with business units (BUs) to negotiate liability sharing and recovery plans.
- Conduct root cause analysis for inventory variances and propose corrective actions.
- Provide data insights to support SSCM on decision-making.
- Provide insights into leadership on working capital performance and risk areas.
- Support SSCM's to Negotiate with customers for liability coverage on E&O exposure.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and end-of-life (EOL) transitions to minimize E&O buildup.
- Work with finance to ensure proper accounting treatment for scrapped/disposed materials.
- Track closure status of committed E&O actions and ensure timely execution.
- Partner with SSCM, GAM, Site, finance, and BU to align on E&O reduction targets.
- Support quarterly/Monthly E&O reviews with leadership and customers.
- Provide input into FOL and forecasting for E&O reserves.
- Prepare, validate, and maintain supply chain reports (e.g., demand/supply gaps, commits, E&O exposure).
- Support SSCMs in data analysis for sourcing strategies, negotiations, and escalations.
- Drives sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
- Presents materials value-add to customers or suppliers, and influence customer to use Flex preferred suppliers.
- Interfaces with customers or supplier in new project start-up, for cost of ownership issues.
- Develops and guides implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
- Manage component cost/price on a local, regional and global basis.
- Tracks materials financial performance and initiate corrective actions when required.
- Defines and implements pricing and costing strategies.
- Coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
- Develop and implement cost take down strategies.
- Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduced Guide-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration
- Manage regional supplier contract negotiations, which includes Memorandums of Comprehension, Non-disclosure and regional pricing agreements.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate action plans.
- Monitor and manage supplier times.
- Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
- Participate in and help global and regional commodity teams.
- Contribute information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards
- Manages material cost reviews.
- Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
- Identify, implement and drive actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
- Drive reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non-cancelable, Non-Returnable (NCNR), etc.)
- Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plans.
- Coordinate quarterly/monthly PPV hard call process.
RSA Compliance/Supplier Audit/Project Management
- Acknowledgement from suppliers,
* Follow up,
* Review audit status,
* Request corrective action completion,
* Request final audit report,
* Maintain a database with this status and evidence of it. - 1. Sign Nestlé Supplier Code
2. Contact one of the official auditor companies provided by Nestle
3. Complete the audit
4. LOC to be shared with FLEX

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply chain design/management or other related areas.
- Experience in understanding cost accounting, electronic component markets, price trends and technologies.
- A background in electronics manufacturing and a thorough understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) product development process.
- To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems
- Preferably exposure to tools like BaaN, Pulse, MSTR, OST.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
