Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams, which build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Automation Technical Project Management located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Director of Automation Engineering, the Automation Technical Project Management role is dedicated to managing and collaborating closely with the operations Automation DRI to drive a standard automation strategy, focusing on productivity projects.
What a typical day looks like:
- Take leadership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production.
- Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
- Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications
- Prepare RFQs and solicit quotations from automation suppliers. Evaluate supplier quotations to determine the best combination of technical solution, cost, and timing.
- Develop a budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them. Able to quickly cost analyze and work up the financial justification for automating
- Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
- Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.
- Provide on-site support during machine build, debug, and testing/qualification.
- Supervise installation and testing to verify that requirements and specifications are met.
- Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.
- Develop manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation, and/or full automation. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
- Implement cost cost-effective automation solution.
- Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at the NPI stage, and ensure meeting the development timeline is met.
- Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct design-for-automation analysis and provide detailed recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per the established schedule.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience working in the manufacturing, electronics, or telecommunications industry.
- Experience in staff coordination.
- Strong engineering experience, including broad-based management and supervision.
- Advanced English
- PMI Certification
- Strong knowledge of implementing automation strategies.
- Responsible for standardizing process improvements.
- Demonstrates detailed expertise in a very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
- Available to travel (Approx. 30% per year)
