The Global Program Manager (GPM) will be based in the Chicago Area and will report into our VP of Program Management. In this role, the GPM will oversee complex projects and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving successful outcomes. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives. 

 

What a typical day looks like: 

  • Maintain accountability for assigned programs, ensuring that the content, quality, and accuracy of program deliverables meet our internal and customer's requirements. 

  • Create and manage program schedules and budgets. Monitor key milestones, ensuring adherence to identified timelines and deliverables of key objectives. 

  • Drive the program with strong leadership, taking ownership of all critical aspects to ensure program success. This includes proactively leading the charge, rather than merely reporting status updates. 

  • Manage customer relationships globally and be the single point of escalation for all program management and operational performance issues escalated beyond site management. 

  • Establish and maintain program structure and operating rhythm to ensure systematic and accurate reporting and program execution.  

  • Partner with operations, commercial, and various cross-functional teams to drive execution toward program outcomes. Ensure alignment of defined strategies between the Flex manufacturing sites, stakeholders, internal functions, and customer. 

  • Drive continuous improvements and standardization efforts by leveraging best practices, creating/documenting repeatable frameworks, and incorporating stakeholder feedback. 

  • Provide input into customer contract development and ensure contract requirements are adhered to by both Flex and the customer.  

  • Leverage OEM experience in launching medical devices, including regulatory, reimbursement, and operational requirements, ensuring full readiness from development through commercialization.  

 

The experience we are looking to add to our team: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in medical, business administration, engineering, or related fields of study from an accredited school;

  • 8+ years of program management experience.

  • Ability to lead programs with a strong sense of drive and accountability.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, including technical concepts, budgets, risks, and schedule issues. 

  • Ability to influence at all levels without direct authority, establish credibility, and build strong partnerships across Flex and customer organizations to deliver the best outcomes for complex programs.  

  • Expertise in various manufacturing processes and techniques.  

  • Ability to support business development by giving presentations and participating in meetings with prospective customers as the program management representative.  

  • A thorough understanding of the unique challenges of medical device manufacturing. 

  • Experience managing programs from early concept through transfer to manufacturing. 

  • Outstanding communication skills appropriate for executive-level audiences and strong presentation skills.

  • PMP certification (PMI) 

  • Engineering or technical background. 

  • Medical device or drug delivery experience is a plus. 

  • Medical device experience in ISO13485 environment.
