To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Global Program Manager (GPM) located in Farmington Hills, MI.
As the President of the program, the GPM ensures there is the primary interface with the Customer and the Flex cross functional departments (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, etc); focuses on tactical execution of the program schedule/plan, continues to monitor, and reduce program risk and maximizing program profitability from award to 90 days post SOP. Fosters the strategic relationship between Flex and the Customer.
What a typical day looks like:
- Program Timing/ Schedule
- Develop and manage a comprehensive program timing plan and schedule to meet customer and Flex milestones, ensuring resources are allocated and tracked effectively while leading team meetings to drive deliverables and address risks and issues.
- Oversee the completion of APQP documentation, conduct FPLC and Financial Gate Review meetings, report program status, and maintain updates in SHIELD ProVx to facilitate timely program execution and escalation of launch issues.
- Financial Management
- Manage the program budget, including ED&T, CapEx, customer-funded tooling, launch costs, and CBOM, while conducting Financial Gate Reviews (FGRs) at specified gates to ensure financial oversight.
- Lead the team in identifying and implementing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) and operational improvement opportunities, driving program cost reduction and utilizing the AUTCR process for enhancements.
- Change Management
- Manage all engineering changes (AUTCR/DEV) for the program in Agile, ensuring customer quotes align with operational improvement goals, while serving as the primary point of contact for customer relationships on a global scale and facilitating communication between customers and Flex sites.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration among various Flex organizations and functions to meet customer expectations, support Customer Business Unit (CBU) metrics, and contribute to the development of operational and manufacturing strategies that align with customer business objectives.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in program administration/ management or related area in the automotive industry.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting scientific, technical, and financial documents, while effectively addressing customer inquiries and complaints.
- Skilled in presenting information clearly to both internal and external executive management.
- Capable of performing accurate calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages, as well as defining problems and drawing valid conclusions from data.
- Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of interrelated business functions and relationship management skills.
