To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Materials Lead located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Materials Lead is responsible for tracking product information in order to keep businesses and supply chains on schedule for production lines. Ensure proper scheduling and record keeping for materials moved within operations. Participates in work related to receiving, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies within operation areas. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.
What a typical day looks like:
- Responsible for leading and coordinating the work of subordinates involved in material movement across different operation areas.
- Ensure proper scheduling & record keeping for materials moved within operations area.
- Compile reports on various aspects of changes in production which affects materials feeds to production lines.
- Find, sort, or move goods between different parts of the business
- Oversees workers' schedules, estimate costs, keep track of materials, and write special orders for new materials.
- Perform general office tasks, such as entering data or distributing mail.
- May receive, unpack, and use hand-held scanners to keep track of merchandise within different production areas
- May weigh, measure, check, sample, and keep records on materials, supplies, and equipment that enters operations area.
- May verify the quantity and quality of items provided on production line, checking for defects and recording what they find.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems.
- Skills required: electronic scales, pallet jack, measuring tools, and alignment tools
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional's journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
