To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to hire MYSQL DBA- IT who is based out of in Coimbatore location.
Main purpose is to maintain, define and implement best practices, implementation of new SQL server feature on-prem and cloud infrastructure for all the regions. Additionally, is escalation point for L2 DBA and point of contact for new project implementations and site project.
Reporting to Senior Manager & the role involves,
What a typical day looks like:
- Administering and guarantee the database integrity and availability of the databases defining and following the best practices,
- Implement processes and procedures to backup, recovery, monitoring and improvement of the databases performance using native and third-party tools (Veeam, BackupExec, NetBackup)
- Analyze and solve database problems in a prompt and accurate fashion with global scope.
- Participate in 24x7 support rotation enabling the follow the sun schema along with other teams
- Installation and configuration of MS SQL Server environments in standalone and for high availability
- Automation of repetitive tasks following standardization of processes
- Analysis, definition and configuration of Cloud Environments for production and non-production
- Define and follow guidelines and processes for database and instance upgrade
- Provide support for Cloud databases on Paas as well on IaaS models
- In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting scripts and knowledge of server configurations.
- Analyze statistical data from databases environments and supply periodical reports to the support groups and management
- Periodically perform system resources review and perform capacity planning
- Validate the performance of new database objects and release to production environment
- Manage, Support, and configure Replication, high availability and Disaster Recovery technologies (DB Tx Replication, Log Shipping, Always On)
- Root Cause analysis and resolution using problem management
- Observe Flex data retention policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
- Protect data and ensure Flex IT security best practices are followed
- Troubleshooting Skills that involves reviewing of Application, system & SQL Server Logs
- Conduct security audits and generate reports for management
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Any bachelor or master degree with 7-10yrs of experience in IT.
- Strong database administrative skill on SQL 2012 & above.
- Other relational database engines (MySQL, PostgreSQL) knowledge and support is desired
- Exposure to VMWare or Virtual Server/ Virtual PC would be added value
- Hans on support on Linux and windows OS environments
- Monitor production systems and provides 24x7 support for production related issues.
- Analyzes application performance using error logs, scripts, and backup reports to optimize performance.
- Work experience with the global and multicultural teams.
- Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and high availability solutions
- Solid experience with Powershell, and any cloud CLI (Azure CLI and/or AWS CLI)
- Automation of processes using Ansible and/or Terraform
- Ability to work with independently and has excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge on ITIL methodology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
