Job Summary Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.


Job Description

To contribute to our efforts and support the teams that build great products, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer-SMT Technical Lead, located at Guadalajara North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Manager, this role is responsible for supervising critical SMT processes, ensuring the correct execution of production plans, and leading the technical team to meet quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.


What a typical day looks like:


  • Extensive knowledge of the SMT process and its qualification•         
  • Analysis of the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product•         
  • Define, implement, and evaluate processes and tooling•         
  • Have the capability to identify root causes of failures•         
  • High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues•         
  • Prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production•         
  • Support the generation and introduction of engineering changes (ECOs)•         
  • Establish robust, and reproducible process or method•         
  • Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies•         
  • Troubleshooting process related issues•         
  • Evaluate and select materials•         
  • Implement statistical process analysis•         
  • Productivity and yield improvements•         
  • Improve manufacturing techniques and through put•         
  • Develop and maintain process documentation•         
  • Training assists during new processes or technologies•         
  • Provide training support during the implementation of new processes or technologies.•        
  •  Develop cost-reduction proposals•         
  • Analyzing reliability tests such as: X-section, Dye and Pry, C3, and strain gaugeInterpretation of DFM studies and associated risk analysis

The experience we're looking to add to our team:


  • Engineering degree
  • Previus experience as a Process Engineer
  • Experience in SMT, PTH, and Backend processes, SPI, edge bonding, and smart torque system
  • Knowledge of stencil design, reflow profiling, tooling/fixture design, and pallet validation.
  • Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610, CPK calculations, CAD/Gerber files, and MS Office.
  • Previous experience supervising and developing technical staff.
  • Schedule availability.
