Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Process Engineering Manager located on Flex North.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations the Process Engineering Manager  Responsible for managing a team of process engineers working on improving process engineering capabilities to support a specific area of a manufacturing organization

What a typical day looks like:

• Manage a team of engineers and technicians to establish and maintain statistical process control systems. 
• Establish and improve process capabilities. 
• Develop and maintain process documentation. 
• Manage development projects that are designed to meet customer product specifications, delivery, and cost expectations. 
• Work with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured. 
• Improve throughput in constrained areas. 
• Develop, test, and implement new materials and processes for improved performance and/or lower cost and manage cost reduction efforts in assigned process areas. 
• Lead the release and qualification of SMT production lines, ensuring processes are fully validated and ready for volume production.
• Manage and maintain all process-related documentation required for production line releases, including process flows, work instructions, and control plans.
• Coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure successful implementation of new products into manufacturing.
• Work with cross-functional teams to collect, review, and approve manufacturing data required for process and line release.
• Establish and execute process validation plans, trials, and capability studies to support SMT line readiness.
• Support pilot builds and production ramp-up activities, ensuring a smooth transition from NPI to mass production.
• Partner with other engineering team members to design new products that can be manufactured. 
• Coordinate initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas. 
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce. 

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in Process Engineering within an SMT manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading process validation, line qualification, and production release activities for SMT manufacturing lines.
• Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, including process development, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.
• Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including process flows, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
• Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with SMT processes, including solder paste printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow, and AOI.
• Experience managing engineering projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills using tools such as 8D, FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Why, and DOE.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers and technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing reporting tools.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably supporting high-mix, low-volume and/or high-volume SMT production environments.
