Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior Analyst -Trade Compliance in Chennai.

The GBS Trade Compliance function is responsible for providing Classification and Trade Services support to Flex sites globally. The open position is for the Classification team wherein any Customer/Supplier part or finished good requiring cross border movement will need to be classified to determine duties and taxes for customs.

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible for classifying and validating Flex commodities, software, and technology (with Harmonized Tariff System Numbers (HTS) & Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN))

• Obtaining Engineering /Product data with interaction from concerned Product Engineers/Program managers and manage such data bases for subsequent classification requests

• Analyze/ interpret data for Classification based on technical information & drawings

• Expected to work independently with some assistance from Team leads.

• Responsible for ensuring legal compliance within government rules and regulations pertaining to classification

• Ability to research discrepancies and provide substantiation to support classification claims to Customs in a timely manner

• Work on various tools/systems- IndeXe and multi-regional regulatory systems.

• ​Trade Compliance - HTS & ECCN Classification, FTA, Tariff regulations, Knowledge on Export Controls, RP Screening

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• 1 - 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Commodities.

• Ability to do data mining

• Candidates preferred with Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation background.

• Any Experience in Trade compliance would be an added advantage (not mandatory).
