Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Corporate Counsel located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to the VP, Deputy General Counsel, in this role you will be responsible for Legal Counsel and honorable business partner guiding and contributing on global commercial transactions of one or more of our business units, regional business, or corporate teams, as well as assisting with variety of day-to-day operational issues and their commercial resolution. As a partner to the business, Counsel will provide data guided strategic, legal, and business-related counsel and guide to executive, financial and business teams in order to navigate better business resolutions and outcomes as well as ensure adherence to corporate and legislative requirements.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Help negotiation and drafting of foreign and domestic commercial transactions covering manufacturing services, procurement of materials, intellectual property, warranty, indemnity, inventory, and financing issues.
  • Nourish and deliver deep technical capability, functional alignment, and outstanding relationships across the functions (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations IT) and business unit guidance to anticipate risks and mitigate impact of such risks.
  • Balance governance and being a solutions provider. Leverage influence and change management skills with the business in the areas of resolution-making to improve business outcomes.
  • Work across borders, time zones and cultures with a cross functional group of stakeholders.   
  • Explain complex topics in clear, easy to comprehend manner with executive-level internal clients.
  • Influence the Legal organization through engagement in projects to improve our capabilities and talent.
  • Develop and provide legal training to internal clients, assist in Global Account manager enhancement programs, Diversity and Inclusion programs, talent development, etc.
  • Manage outside counsel when necessary.
  • Navigate geo-political issues.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree or a Bachelor of Law degree.
  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree preferred.
  • Typically requires related experience and full business unit control, working directly with business unit president and team.
  • Licensed Attorney.
