Job SummaryMotion Controls international (MCi), a Flex company, is the global market leader in mirror glass and power-folding actuators and is expanding its product portfolio to other Automotive actuation solutions such as Active Aerodynamics & Motor cooling management.
The Supplier Quality Engineer analyses, monitors, evaluates, and improves the quality performance of MCi's suppliers. Initiates improvement programs at current and new suppliers and evaluates the quality performance of potential new suppliers as part of the supplier selection process.
In this role, you will be leading the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process from part design up to SOP to maintain excellent performance of MCI's supplier base.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement, a strong technical background, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external suppliers.
What a typical day looks like:
- You will lead the APQP/PPAP process with new selected suppliers and existing suppliers for new or changed products or materials from product development to SOP stage (start of production);
- Design and maintain procedures and documentation according to the IATF 16949 requirements and reports the organisation regarding the quality performance of suppliers;
- Lead quality management system- and process audits at existing and potential new suppliers, using the VDA 6.3 procedure, at the supplier site to assess supplier's capabilities to deliver according to IATF 16949 QMS- and MCi requirements.
- Advice the organisation, if supplier development actions are required. Also performs other compliance audits in relation to automotive standards where required;
- You will participate in product development teams and safeguards the APQP process in relation to external suppliers and purchased material;
- Provide support where needed to suppliers to improve their quality performance and provides training in MCi required quality objectives;
- Lead the 8D-problemsolving process in case of major, complex nonconformities and informs MCI plants. Makes sure that non conformality costs caused by the supplier are addressed;
- Provide support to Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) in MCI factories where needed. Takes the lead in improvement programs in case of structural underperforming suppliers (SQE escalates to higher level);
- Provide input to the Engineering team in design reviews, and DFM input. Delivers supplier performance input to the Sourcing committee. Provides input to Sr. management about risk assessments in case of potential unpredicted situations.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Higher (HBO) education with Quality Engineer (EOQ) or Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ);
- Knowledges and experience with IATF16949;
- Fluent in Dutch and English;
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Minitab;
- Knowledge and experience with auditing; VDA 6.3 auditor certification, minimum 3 years auditing experience in Automotive;
- Thorough knowledge of problem-solving techniques (8D, DOE);
- Good knowledge of statistical and quality control techniques;
- Focused on problem solving and continuous improvement;
- Team player with excellent communication skills, customer-focussed, analytical, and solution-oriented;
- Available for (international) travel (max 20%).
