In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Midwest HIDTA Investigative Support Center.

A Clerical II executes the following duties:
  • Produces and edits correspondence using word processing software (letters, memos, reports, forms, etc.)
  • Creates and merges (if necessary) letters with mailing lists.
  • Schedules appointments for office.
  • Facilitates on-line creation of new records, data updates, and verification of existing records using data-entry skills.
  • Performs on-line modification of records to correct misspelled or misrelated data.
  • Prints predetermined management reports.
  • Answers all incoming inquiries regarding case-related information status as maintained in the database.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

A Clerical II must meet the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Fully capable of reading, writing, understanding, and speaking common English
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to code and file records
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including personal computers, photocopiers, telephone systems, fax machines, shredders, etc.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other common software applications, to include databases
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail and follow directions
  • Proven commitment and competence to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.   Agency Overview

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is responsible for conducting national and international investigations targeting global drug trafficking networks and drug-related terrorism involved in the illegal growing, manufacturing, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States. A component of DEA's strategic mission is the use of the Asset Forfeiture Program, implementing major investigative strategies against drug networks and cartels, resulting in significant seizure and forfeiture activities.

The Midwest HIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC) is a combined Federal, state, and local intelligence and information sharing Initiative. The ISC facilitates intelligence sharing among law enforcement agencies through the systematic collection, analysis, and dissemination of secure, accurate, and timely drug intelligence. The dissemination of actionable intelligence, along with ongoing case support and drug trend/threat analysis, enables law enforcement entities throughout the Midwest to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations and other associated criminal groups at the highest level. Using all available intelligence systems, such support unequivocally reduces the flow and distribution of illicit drugs and drug proceeds across the Midwest HIDTA region and beyond.   Benefits Overview
