Fusion Education Group is a fast-growing organization with a nationwide network of private middle and high schools (grades 5–12). We're seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, and analyses. This role partners closely with the accounting team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial results, maintain strong internal controls, and drive continuous improvement across accounting processes. The position is integral to the month-end close process, financial reporting, and ad hoc analyses. 
 

What You'll Do: 

  • Timely completion of month-end close tasks, including preparation of journal entries, variance analysis, and accurate financial reporting 
  • Prepare and review complex balance sheet account reconciliations, including supporting schedules, investigation, and resolution of reconciling items 
  • Perform financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify trends, and highlight opportunities for improvement 
  • Partner with other business units to support accurate financial reporting and resolve accounting issues 
  • Manage large volumes of financial data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and process changes, including data validation 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements 
  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc analyses, as assigned 
     
     

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of public accounting or 4 years of general accounting experience 
  • Strong analytical skills and intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency 
  • Experience with systems (e.g., NetSuite, Great Plains, SalesForce). 
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of financial data accurately 
  • Process-oriented mindset with an understanding of downstream impacts 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and resolve complex issues 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships 
  • A self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset, accountability, and a can-do attitude 
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
