As we continue to grow, we're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a crucial role in managing our accounts payable processes. This role involves reviewing purchase order documentation, processing payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude and a strong team mentality who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review PO documentation and verify the accuracy of invoices for payment entry.
- Process payments in a timely manner, adhering to vendor terms.
- Track freight for materials purchased to ensure timely delivery.
- Collect and maintain new vendor information and update vendor files as needed.
- Perform general ledger functions, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Reconcile petty cash and credit card payments for purchases.
- Troubleshoot variances and obtain necessary approvals for payments.
- Assist with the preparation of use taxes and year-end 1099 forms.
- Perform additional accounting functions such as processing accounts receivable, payroll, or bank reconciliations as required.
- Provide administrative support, including filing, ordering supplies, and planning lunches and events.
- Actively participate in and promote our employee ownership culture and Open Book Management principles.
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- High energy with a positive attitude and strong team player mentality.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with vendors, customers, and employees.
