Description
The Category Management Planning Associate works with the Category Teams in entering the promotional plan and proofing the information before going to press. The Planning Associate is fast and efficient in key punching large amounts of data while showing exceptional attention to detail. This position excels in data and analysis, completing tasks, and has good collaboration and communication skills to work with the Category Teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for entering large amounts of data into in house promotional planning system with speed and accuracy
- Proof system output against visual artwork to confirm pricing and product accuracy of printed promotional events
- Analyze pricing and product selection of promotional plan to ensure logic and consistency across multiple advertising vehicles
- Assist in analysis of event performance by capturing attributes such as ad spot size, location within the page, ad spot type, and other factors contributing to the effectiveness of printed media vehicles
- Make recommendations to improve ad planning efficiency

Requirements
Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- 2+ years' experience in the retail industry is a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
General office environment requiring ability to:
- stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
- speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
- use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
- lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
