Description
The Senior Logistics Analyst – Operations will support the analytics, operations, and reporting for the Harbor Freight Transportation team. With over 55,000+ deliveries annually, the Senior Logistics Analyst – Operations will be responsible for standardizing, harmonizing and analyzing logistics data across various modes of transportation; developing and implementing service and cost improvements, and require the quantitative ability to make data-oriented decisions in accordance with the company's delivery strategies and objectives. The position will require reporting skills to bridge cross-functional communication that drives efficiencies and cost contained service improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting Domestic Inbound & Outbound Transportation
- Must have capability to develop, manage and maintain transportation operating budgets
- Analyze and report on domestic outbound transportation activities and financial budgets ($100+MM)
- Operations planning and forecasting of shipments / loads
- Reconcile demand variances and refining forecasts to improve accuracy
- Detailed tracking and reporting for transportation and store delivery
- Analyze data and trend analysis to drive metric enhancements
- Generate weekly and monthly Cost / Service KPIs
- Develop scorecards, dashboards, and exception reports to pinpoint service and cost opportunities
- Develop and maintain Logistics solutions library
- Provide delivery strategies to cross functional department to assist in all special needs as requested.
- Analyze and make recommendations on improved delivery performance
- Additional duties as assigned by manager
- Support and lead network & sub-optimal design analysis
- Engineer new transportation modes to service stores
- Develop project charters and provide solutions to improve cost / service
- Conduct network analysis to determine optimal shipping nodes & delivery type
- Assist in coordinating projects & Transportation initiatives
- Create written standard operating procedures with visualized flow charts
- Support exploring different transportation IT platforms such as TMS or dynamic routing

Requirements
Education and Experience
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in either Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics or Applied Mathematics and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Years of Experience
- 3+ years' experience in Transportation, Operations and/or Supply Chain.
- Retail experience plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical background with high expertise in Access/Excel/Power BI/SQL/Tableau
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected as part of the job performance and will need to rely on judgment and experience to accomplish goals
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
- Understanding and experience in project management and exposure to project management methodologies
- Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding innovative technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and directed
