Job Purpose: This position manages, oversees, and monitors business area's mitigation and corrective action plans for ongoing compliance of privacy issues. This includes the breach notification process and controls, developing and maintaining HCSC's privacy compliance architecture to support acceptable business practices, developing, and implementing HCSC's privacy policies and procedures, managing HIPAA Security investigations, managing government complaints and breach notification reporting to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position oversees and monitors business area's mitigation and corrective action plans for ongoing compliance of privacy/regulatory issues. Oversight includes all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and access to, protected health information and sensitive personal information in compliance with laws, regulations, and guidance including the Affordable Care Act and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) HITECH, state privacy, security, and consumer notifications requirements, and HCSC's privacy policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:      

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years' experience in healthcare OR JD, MBA and 4 years of experience or equivalent degree, OR 10 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of direct supervision experience.
  • Knowledge and experience interpreting state/federal laws.
  • Experience with health care industry regulations.
  • PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal skills to work with peers or across departments to resolve issues or complete projects/initiatives.
  • Excellent facilitation, organizational, integration and presentations skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in health care and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of HITRUST, URAQ and NCQA Accreditation
  • Experience with enterprise policy and procedure review and delivery
  • Familiarity with creation of training materials and train the trainer concepts.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Medicare and Medicaid knowledge is a plus.

**Please note this is a HYBRID – FLEX role which requires a minimum of 3 days of in-office hours per week at the respective office location.
